Happy Fourth Of July

Happy Fourth of July!

Reality is the topic of the week and there are many out there who are facing a harsh reality of loosing a loved one to the war in Iraq.  My heart and prayers go out to anyone who has a loved one currently serving in our Military today.  I would like to honor the sacrifice that those serving are making to keep all of us here at home safe. Thank you!  (Thank You just isn't enough)

Here is a video of an amazing woman who found a way honor those fallen in battle:

Sorry there was no Blog yesterday, I had to face reality on Tuesday morning.  The spirit was willing but the flesh was week!  I went to bed at 11:00pm and needed to be up by 3:00am.  I had hoped to have my Blog posted before leaving for the airport, but alas, plane schedules do not wait so my Blog had to.  There was also a lack of Internet connection when I arrived at my destination.

Aye!

Aye, to be certain, you must be lost to find a place that can’t be found!

~ Captain Barbossa, Pirates of the Caribbean, At Worlds End

What is your reality?

You have done your homework.  You may seem more lost now then you were before you started.  Some of the questions you may not have answered.  Why?  Are you scared to death to face reality?  Do your answers scare you?

Are you more afraid to leave your reality or stay in it?  Is your reality comfortable and pleasant?  Are you content?  Does contentment suit you or do you want to live your life with passion?   Either is fine, as long as YOU choose it.

Look at your answers to the questions from last Thursday June, 28.  Create two essays with your answers.  Here are the guide lines:

The first essay should be your current situation.  Describe it completely.  What is your life like?  What do you feel like in the morning?  What do you feel like when you are getting dressed?  What do you feel like when you are looking in the mirror?  What do you feel like when you are going to work, a party, church, lunch, dinner, the gym, the beach, add anything and anywhere you go or do.  Describe how you feel as you go about the various activities of your day.  Be as descriptive as possible.  Be honest.  If you are miserable, name it!  If you are content, say so.  If you are happy, claim it.

The second essay should be about what your life would be like if you followed your dream and you jumped without a net.   Answer all the same questions. Include what your life will be like if you succeed the way you are dreaming of.  How wonderful will it be?  What will the pitfalls be like?  If you fail, what will be the worst case scenario?

If you arelost and confused you may be getting close to a turning point.  Fear may be the only thing blocking you.  We will cover that tomorrow.

Scared to Death To Face Reality

Facing Reality:

Simply put:

1. Be careful what you wish for.

2. Know your true desire.

3. You can’t turn towards what you want, until you turn away from

    what you don’t want.

Luke 9:62

The week ahead

We will be covering how to face reality. Make certain that you have done the assignment from Thursday June28.  Also, I am traveling to California early Tuesday morning.  I usually try to post my blog before 10am EST, however, travel and time zone changes will be putting that into a bit of a time lag.  Please bear with me until my return on July 14th.

Stopping By Woods On Snowy Evening

Stopping By Woods On Snowy Evening

By Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there's some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

So much can be said about this poem.  Is it a love poem?  A poem about commitment?  Does the writer wish to escape reality into the woods?  Is it about focus.  Either way, it is haunting.  Itmakes you think, and wish, and dream.

Reality Check

Reality Check!

I was asked an interesting question last week.  The question was “how do I turn towards reality?”  I found this question haunting because it came from someone who desperately wishes to fulfill their desires.  So, being a coach, I have some questions.  These are for everyone to answer;

  1. What is your reality now?
  2. How happy are you happy with it?
  3. What part of your reality are you afraid to loose?
  4. What part of your reality would you love to be rid of?
  5. Do you want to turn towards your reality or towards your dream?
  6. What is your biggest fear should you realize your dream?
  7. What are you willing to risk to accomplish yourdream?
  8. When you accomplish your dream, why will you be happy?

Work on these answering these questions.  We will use your answers next week to do more work
